Letter : Columbia, S.C., to Capt. McCord, 1862 Nov. 26.

Letter to Captain [Langdon Cheves] McCord acknowledging the receipt of three Union flags captured by "three brave soldiers of the Hampton Legion, and presented by Leiut [sic] Col. [Martin Witherspoon] Gary through yourself." Pickens praises the courage of these men and Cheves' devotion to the state of South Carolina.
